Welcome to KAMA – a new workout movement for women that focuses on the pelvic core. Whereas Yoga and Pilates do an excellent job of developing the abdominal core, KAMA shifts our attention even lower down, to the ever-important pelvic core region.
Created by dancer and Miss Canada runner-up, Halyna Skrypnyk, together with the help of physician and fitness enthusiast, Dr.Melissa Hershberg, KAMA brings you an innovative new work out that is fun, effective, and backed by science.
Externally, the pelvic core comprises the typical female fat zones – the hips, buttocks, thighs and lower abdomen. KAMA targets these regions leading to noticeable lifting, toning, and sculpting of the underlying muscles. Because these are the largest muscle groups in the body, repeated isometric contractions of them results in significant calorie burning and targeted fat loss. The result is noticeable reduction in size and improved shape to the lower body.
Internally, the pelvic core muscles are the ones involved with sexual pleasure, childbirth and fertility. KAMA exercises are designed to tone and revitalize these muscles awakening the feminine energy within you.
The KAMA workouts are designed to be uplifting, both physically and spiritually. You will leave classes feeling sassy, flirtatious, sensual, relaxed and free. This is the essence of KAMA. It’s about strengthening and lifting our female bodies on the outside and on the inside simultaneously – both physically and spiritually.
The practice of KAMA allows us to take time out of our busy lives to focus on our sensuality – on feeling as opposed to thinking. When we do this, we allow ourselves to let go, to turn off our brains, so that we can turn on our bodies and allow them to make positive changes naturally and effortlessly.
